THE BEST BITS from Episodes 12-19

Every tenth episode of CultureLab, we look back at the previous 9 episodes and pick the ‘best bits’: the tips and stories that help us demystify organisational and team culture and make it more accessible and less overwhelming in its complexity.

Best Bits episode is also an opportunity to zoom out and see the big picture, extracting common themes from the interviews with our greatly diverse group of guests.

This time, we had a truly eclectic mix of guests: Richard Newman, Terence Mauri, Ed Schein, Michael Bungay Stanier, Tim Kuppler, Patsy Rodenburg, Thimon De Jong and Whitney Johnson.

Here are the themes that emerged:

  • culture work is a “means to an end” – not an end in itself
  • the role leaders play in shaping culture
  • the importance of generating the right motional energy to bring about culture change
  • the importance of learning and experimenting in building strong, adaptable cultures

I hope that you enjoy this episode as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you!
