When people think about the key attributes of a successful company culture, kindness doesn’t always make the top of the list.

In fact, it often doesn’t make the list at all.

And yet, when you think of how kindness could potentially express itself through people’s daily actions at work, you’ll easily come up with a long list of highly desirable behaviours:

  • acknowledging people’s strengths
  • offering help and support
  • showing interest and concern for others’ needs and aspirations
  • sharing knowledge and experiences
  • encouraging others
  • considering others’ perspective and point of view
  • giving difficult feedback that will help the person grow

This list could easily go on for much, much longer.

In this context, it’s not surprising that Kip Lambert, the co-owner and the Chief Culture Officer of the company called Destination makes it his priority to cultivate a culture of kindness.
